The stars are so luminous and numerous tonight
Stirring that sense of wonder deep in me
The sky is blue velvet sprinkled lavishly with light
The stars the eternal wells of mystery

I can see the ancient Greeks in total awe
Like you and I

There are Ursa Major and the Hunter of Orion
And Hydra the Serpent and Leo the Lion
Their stories have been told as long as humans have been watching

Like rain it was falling from the starry skies

The old Greeks and the Egyptians
Saw the same as you and me

The mighty horse of Pegasus is towering before us
