The Great Purge of 2002

This section of ABBA World contains links to every known ABBA web site whether official, commercial or fan created. It also contains many related sites, including various companies that release ABBA product around the world, and where you can buy ABBA merchandise. All links will open in a new browser window.

All known ABBA and related sites are listed in the all sites a to z section, including sites dedicated to the members individually, related artists, companies that have released ABBA product and sites where you can buy ABBA merchandise.

Many, though not all, sites are also listed in the sites by category, under all relevant categories (ABBA solo; biographies; bootlegs; chart information; cover bands & tributes; discographies; downloadables; fan clubs & fanzines; fan contacts; foreign language sites; faq (frequently asked questions); links; lyrics; mamma mia! - the musical based on the songs of ABBA (formerly listed in the ABBA solo section); manufacturers & distributors (formerly record, film & publishing companies); music files; news; on-line stores (formerly commercial vendors); picture galleries; related artists; Swedish sites; and trading points/merchandise).

The new links page lists those sites that have recently been added, or have recently changed their contents or URL within the past two months. Sites are listed on this page firstly by date order, then alphabetically within the date.

Worthy sites are graded by the rankings system ("essential", "highly recommended", "worth a look" and "dud site"). Rankings are also shown at the top of every page.

You'll find those ABBA sites that are considered essential in the ABBA fan community of being the most informative and interesting sites listed separately, to help you easily find the best sites that the internet has to offer. If your site has been selected as an "essential" or "highly recommended" site, now you can add a banner to let visitors to your own site know about it. Check the rankings page for further details.

If you have or know of any other ABBA or related web sites not listed here, or have any corrections or comments on those listed, please e-mail me with the URL, title of the site and a brief description of its contents.

If you're thinking of creating your own ABBA website, take a look at my hints for creating a website page for a few useful suggestions.

I get a lot of e-mail every week from people looking for the best sites on particular topics (mostly MP3 files). Unfortunately, I usually can't answer such questions, as I don't have the time to regularly check every web site listed here. I recommend that you check the sites by category pages before you e-mail me with any questions. You'll find the best sites in each category ranked for content and ease of use.

All links listed in this section were checked 20 - 22 February and 31 March 2000. From 689 links, 150 dead links were removed, and many more were updated.

All links in this section were checked 3-5 and 13-15 April 2002. From 845 links, 185 were removed, sites listed on the on-line stores and Swedish sites pages were removed from the a to z section, and 43 more were updated. For more, see here.

This part of ABBA World was originally known as ABBALINK. As part of the creation of ABBA World in April 2000, ABBALINK was integrated into the new site. All of the features of ABBALINK were retained, though some of the pages (particularly in the sites by category section) were renamed.

ABBALINK was originally launched on 27 January 1998. It had recorded over 60,000 hits since moving to FortuneCity on 24 July 1998, and almost 7,000 hits at its earlier location.

ABBALINK was listed as a recommended site in the ABBF Fan Club magazine and the ABBAMAIL Internet Companion. It was voted third favourite ABBA site in the 1999 ABBAMAIL poll, and selected as Site Of The Month in June 1999 by ABBA - The Site, the official web site. Have a look at some of the comments that I've received in the past about ABBALINK.

Thanks to the many, many ABBA pages listed on these pages, through which I found many of these ABBA sites contained herein, especially Charles Plyad's ABBA-Dabba-Dooo!!!, Linda Granqvist's ABBA Links, Pentti Koponen's Private ABBA Photos, ABBA Links At The Milarus Mansion, ABBA - The Site, and the many contributors to ABBAMAIL and the other ABBA e-mail lists and newsgroups. Also the Bloody Big Search Engine, which has links to well over a dozen Search Engines through which I found many other ABBA and related sites.

Thanks also to Haggai for suggesting the new links page; Dimitri Jambé for suggesting the foreign language sites page; Carl Magnus Palm for suggesting the essential sites page, and Grant Whittingham for suggesting the bootlegs page.

Others who have contributed over time: Stephen Morris, Luke Rogers, Jason Swan, and many others who unfortunately I didn't note down at the time. Thanks everyone!
