Most mailing lists are hosted by Yahoo! Groups, a free hosting service. To take full advantage of the many features of these lists, it is recommended that you first become a registered user of eGroups, easily done from their main page.
All ABBA Yahoo! Groups lists can be found here, as well as lists for the individual members and specific projects. Of the many mailing lists, the best to join are:
abba-list, the longest running list on the internet. An extremely friendly list with members from around the world. A popular general list for ABBA fans to discuss their favourite group.
ABBAMAIL, until recently the biggest and busiest of the list, this list has recently changed its focus and encourages active participation. ABBAMAIL is not for everyone - check the website for details of membership and participation.
ABBA, a list along the lines of abba-list, with many members discussing ABBA in general.
Many music-related sites, and many ABBA fan sites, host various forms of chat rooms or bulletin boards - too many to list here, and most are under-utilised.
ABBA - The Site, the official ABBA site, has a lively and active forum. Most activity is of a superficial nature, and many regular participants appear to be newer fans.
There are two ABBA newsgroups:
alt.music.abba is an active general discussion group. In the past it was filled with "troublemakers", but these days things are calm and generally friendly. If you don't have access to newsgroups, you can use Google Groups to participate.
alt.binaries.pictures.abba is a newsgroup for posting pictures. This has up and down periods of activity, and unfortunately also gets bombed with a lot of porn images.
