ABBA's recorded output was originally spread across eight studio albums, three compilation albums, numerous singles, and on other collections. Since the end of the group, many more songs have been released in various formats. The entire ABBA catalogue has been revamped several times.

The following is the "bare minimum" ABBA collection. Those 15 CDs and one DVD available today that will give the buyer every ABBA song, foreign language version or alternate mix (excluding the multitude of edited versions that simply removed parts or repeated parts of a song).

Ring Ring (2001 remaster) - twelve songs on original album (including 'She's My Kind Of Girl', not on the original Swedish LP, but included on international versions of the album), plus B sides 'Merry-Go-Round', 'Santa Rosa'; and the Swedish version of 'Ring Ring' (which was on the original Swedish LP).

Waterloo (2001 remaster) - twelve songs on the original album (including the Swedish version of 'Waterloo', not included on international versions of the LP), 'Honey, Honey' in Swedish; and the 1974 remix of 'Ring Ring' from the North American Waterloo LP. The 30th Anniversary Edition (2004, no longer available) adds 'Waterloo' in French (also available on international version of 18 Hits) and German (also on The Complete Singles Collection).

ABBA (2001 remaster) - eleven songs on the original album, plus B sides 'Crazy World' and 'Medley: Pick A Bale Of Cotton/On Top Of Old Smokey/Midnight Special'

Arrival Deluxe Edition (2006) - ten songs on the original album, plus non-album single 'Fernando'; B side 'Happy Hawaii'; Spanish versions 'Fernando', 'La Reine Del Baile' and 'Conociéndome, Conociéndote'; and Frida's solo Swedish version of 'Fernando'. The 2001 remaster does not include the Spanish recordings (also on ABBA Oro) nor Frida's 'Fernando' (also on Frida ensam). DVD includes early mix of 'When I Kissed The Teacher' in the film ABBA-dabba-doo!!

ABBA - The Album Deluxe Edition (2007) - nine songs on the original album, plus single edit of 'Eagle'; 'Thank You For The Music (Doris Day version)'; live recordings of 'Take A Chance On Me' (alternate mix to other releases, unique to this collection) and 'I Wonder (Departure)' (also on Thank You For The Music); 'Al Andar' and 'Gracias Por La Música' (also on ABBA Oro). The 2001 remaster only includes 'Thank You For The Music (Doris Day version)'.

Voulez-Vous Deluxe Edition (2010) - ten songs on the original album, plus the full length version of 'Summer Night City' (also on Thank You For The Music), non-album single 'Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)', single B side 'Lovelight', 1978 outtake 'Dream World' (also on Thank You For The Music) and 1979 extended remix of 'Voulez-Vous' (also on The Definitive Collection). The 2001 remaster includes only the single version of 'Summer Night City' (also on More ABBA Gold, The Definitive Collection), and does not include 'Dream World', 'Voulez-Vous'(extended remix). DVD includes early mixes of 'Kisses Of Fire' and 'Does Your Mother Know' in the film ABBA In Switzerland.

Super Trouper Deluxe Edition (2011) - ten songs on the original album, plus B side 'Elaine', the full length version of 'On And On And On' (in stereo, all other releases in mono only), album sessions outtake 'Put On Your White Sombrero', and the Spanish versions 'Andante Andante' and 'Felicdad' ( also on ABBA Oro). The 2001 remaster includes only bonus tracks 'Elaine" and 'Put On Your White Sombrero'.

The Visitors (2001 remaster) - nine songs on the original album, plus singles 'The Day Before You Came', 'Under Attack' and B sides 'Should I Laugh Or Cry' and 'Cassandra'. 1997 remaster (no longer available) deletes 'Cassandra' and includes b-side 'You Owe Me One' (also on Thank You For The Music).

ABBA Live (1986, rereleased 1997) - fourteen live recordings of ABBA hits.

ABBA Oro - Grandes Exitos (1999 or 2002 remaster) - all fifteen of ABBA's Spanish-language recordings.

More ABBA Gold - More ABBA Hits (1993, re-released 1999, 2008) - 1982 outtake 'I Am The City'.

Thank You For The Music 4 CD box set (1994, re-released 2008) - alternate version of 'Lovelight'; full-length version of 'Summer Night City'; the 1975 mix of 'Medley: Pick A Bale Of Cotton/On Top Of Old Smokey/Midnight Special'; B side 'You Owe Me One'; outtakes 'Put On Your White Sombrero', 'Dream World', 'Thank You For The Music (Doris Day version)'; 23 minute medley of outtakes 'ABBA Undeleted'; medleys of 'Waterloo in French and Swedish' and 'Ring Ring' in Swedish, Spanish and German, and 'Honey, Honey' in Swedish'; live versions of 'I Wonder (Departure)', 'Slipping Through My Fingers' and 'Me And I'; plus all non-album single tracks also available on other above-mentioned CDs.

The Complete Singles Collection (1999, Germany) - all three of ABBA's German-language recordings, 'Ring Ring', 'Wer im Wartesaal der Liebe steht' and 'Waterloo'.

The Definitive Collection (2001) - 1974 single remix of 'Ring Ring' and 1979 extended remix of 'Voulez-Vous'.

18 Hits - Svenska popklassiker (2005, Sweden) - all four of ABBA's Swedish-language recordings, 'Ring Ring (bara du slog en signal)', B side 'Åh, vilka tider', 'Waterloo' and 'Honey, Honey'.

18 Hits (2005, international version) - French version of 'Waterloo' and German version of 'Ring Ring'.

The Definitive Collection DVD (2002) - full length version of 'On And On And On' with an extra verse (in mono).

The 9 CD/2 DVD box set The Complete Studio Recordings (2005) contains everything on the above CDs and DVD (except live recordings), plus one track not available elsewhere - the 1974 alternate mix of 'Waterloo'.
