Arrival
Polydor remastered CD 1997
3rd paragraph: ".. ABBA had recorded the song ['Dancing Queen'] during the
previous Christmas break, and this fact was well known in Sweden
" Wrong.
Recording actually started the previous August (1975), but final sessions for the song
were in December 1975. And it wasn't just well known in Sweden - during ABBA's promotional
visit to Australia in March 1976, a special promotional was filmed that was announced at
the time to be shown when the single was to be released the following August.
4th paragraph: "
'Happy Hawaii', which was not included on the album,
although a track with an identical tune does appear: "Why Did It Have To Be
Me'
" Wrong. The two songs share one musical phrase, but the tunes overall are
not identical.
5th paragraph: "'Tiger' was tipped by critics as a future single release (but was
never issued in that form)
" Wrong. It was released as the B-side to 'Dancing
Queen' in Japan.
continuing: "
the album's title track attracted attention because it was an
instrumental with a distinctly Celtic feel
" Again, typical Anglocentric bias,
with no acknowledgment of the influence of traditional Swedish music on the song, though
this same sort of comment was widely repeated in reviews of the album in 1976.
Again, the emphasis in the notes is on the chart action of the singles from the album,
with the added bonus of an extended list of the albums that kept Arrival from the top of
the album chart in the UK.
