ABBA’s hit on a boring beat

ABBA–The Album (RCA)
Every pop group hit a low patch in their career – ABBA appear to have hit theirs
in this album.
The Super-Swedes who shot to fame early last year don’t seem to have taken
enough time in putting this disk together.
Even the most ardent ABBA fans will find it well below their normal first-class
standard.
But the album isn’t all bad as it contains their latest single,
The Name Of The Game, which is selling
well.
The first side opens with Eagle, which
has distinctive lyrics but a boring beat.
Take A Chance On
Me follows and is by far the worst track on the album.
It’s slow, uninteresting and has been put together in an amateurish way.
Move On,
Hole In Your Soul and Thank You For
The Music are on the other side.
