London notes: ABBA recently
invited (and, of course, paid for) over 100 delegates from all over the world to
fly into Stockholm to see their latest outing,
ABBA-The Movie. The group
have been quoted as saying that the film “will greatly please all our fans. It
is a light lovely comedy.” Not being a fan, the whole schmaltzy enterprise
leaves me unmoved although I know many a six-year-old who has been awaiting the
movie’s release with wide-eyed enthusiasm.
