Blonde Agnetha Fältskog, now 42, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad, 46, never meet and only occasionally keep in touch by phone. While Agnetha has all but retreated from the world in a heavily-guarded island hideaway, Anni-Frid – though also shunning the pop limelight – at least keeps in regular touch with the band’s other members, ex-husband Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus.

Frida refuses to get caught up in the showbusiness whirl. With nine Number One hit singles with ABBA in the U.K. charts behind her, an estimated $120 million in the bank, a Majorcan villa and a sprawling Swedish farm, she can afford to indulge her new passion for the environment.
But it’s hard shaking the ABBA legend. “Working for the environment is my profession now,” she says. “I am just as keen to develop this as when I was a pop artist.
“I want to leave Frida and ABBA behind, but it’s very difficult when the group is having this revival.” Transcribed for ABBA World
