Some people still laugh at the reaction of Swedish super-group ABBA – but they remain one of the great music phenomenons.
They are certainly getting revenge on the doubters, with the release of the ABBA Gold-Greatest Hits album, which is rocketing up the charts in many countries.
Artists such as the guys from REM and Guns ‘N’ Roses admit they’ve been fans for years.
The magic of ABBA lives on because they wrote great songs, were fantastic record producers and, in their time, made superb video clips.
Now it looks like they’re having their time all over again.
I’m convinced their revival is not just a matter of nostalgia.
ABBA had many great songs, including Money, Money, Money and they certainly made plenty of it because of three other important words Quality, Quality, Quality! Transcribed for ABBA World
